The image seems a metaphor for one who pretends to leave a different life, who hides behind masks. The flies might symbolize the poison / lies we accept in our life and the button might symbolize that we are partially blind.
I think of the hat as the world we live under, but I feel there is more to it than that.
As a whole, I appreciate the composition, find it highly original and well realized and look forward to your next deviations.
