When I deliver critique, do keep in mind I do not have the original in front of me and I render to what I observe on my screen, whether RGB calibrated or not, both viewer and poster. Mostly, what is stronger in one point is weaker in the other and I take a broad interpretation, rather than rate according to my rush feelings that settle down into sober and objective observation. Now that having said...

First, general. I love the composition and it has certainly a warm style that I enjoy to watch. It is a concept I've seen more, but there are hidden ingredients that triggers me to explore.

Vision: I rated it 4 stars. It is a type of work that has a pretty direct and obvious symbolism, that is, it gives me that impression. It is clear the artists want to carry over a message to the viewers.

Originality: I rate that 3 stars, because the concept in its whole is not too original as I've seen relatively seen a sortwise, classical romantically mood in either roses or a open ancient book. However, there are just enough elements that are cleverly disguised; like the poison love-ink, like the "bleeding" and the pen at the end of the arrow. That together combines towards a tale for the viewer and invites to exploration.

Technique: I've rated it 4 stars because of the classic and warm style. Is it really distinctive? I don't know, but at least more works from the artist is done that way. Knowing the artists works I know also what he is capable of, so I've put that in perspective.

Impact: The warm and romantic mood is quite present. It is enjoyable to watch and easy to look at. If the concept itself moves me personally? I find it just less original enough to give a deep punch in my emotions. I do think the symbolism works really well to dramatize the piece.

All in all a very well executed piece that is very pleasant to watch over several times. It could be part of my home decoration.
