I find "Trees of Death" very interesting. In it there is much movement yet very few colors. The expanding vertical lines are very sporatic as they loose their definition and depth in value. The sky is fresh, or rather untouched by humans, and the sun is hidden behind clouds of inversion. The snowy atmosphere only strengthens the title due to a very direct connection between winter time and sleep/death. To me, there is a white sky with perfectly healthy, ominously sick trees. One may think they have stumbled onto a forbidden path, or they are getting closer to the end of it. I like this piece for it lets my eyes continue to move. My mind continues to race. It is very dynamic in nature and makes me think. It's lack of color allows me to remain calm even though I feel like I shouldn't be here. I think it screams scilence. - “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown” ― H.P. Lovecraft
Mesmerizing O_o . First: excellent idea; don't care whose it is but I'm glad you had it. Second - excellent execution: great composition, good quality, great use of the birds and judicial use of color. Third: with enough mental effort and unfocusing of the eyes the viewer can generate a horizon close to the bottom edge of the image, which results in a interestingly haunting image; one that keeps drawing the viewer in, to explore the light and shadows. i just keep staring at it.
