The Forbidden Spark by borda The Forbidden Spark by borda
oil on canvas, 100x80 cm.
a...not easy to explain this one, is about the memes, and their levels.
Short about the memes:

The memes have 3 levels:
1) the organic one, the living organisms
2) the mind level, all human ideas that replicate themselves from brain to brain like a virus. A meme is the smallest atomic unit of information that is stored in the mind that can be socially transmitted and reproduced. Their evolution respect the darwininan principles of selection.
3) the technological memes that does not have his genital organs ready for the job is the artificial life, nanorobots & stuff, which spreads itself via technology -- and invents ways to keep itself alive

I really love this painting, it really is a masterpiece and obviously comes from someone who has a deep understanding of people and the subconscious!. In this painting there are three observers, the machine ego on the couch projecting romantic love onto the female, The man in black who is watching them, and most cleverly of all, you!

The artist has added a mouse and keyboard knowing that this work would be seen online, and so it mirrors your mouse and keyboard. Making you the observer, observing the painting. The apple here represents the original sin from the garden of eden, with the two original humans/apes in front. The wine and bread on the table represent the body and blood of christ, the snake eating itself in the back represents infinity. There is a beautiful duality between the machine and the female body. A nice touch is the chastity belt the female body wears indicating that the relationship is not a physical/sexual one but an anima projection.

I'm still not entirely sure what the tourists passing by and the sextants represent, but I guess that is what makes this piece so interesting! I'm a huge fan of art that makes you more aware, that can improve peoples lives and this is certainly one of them. I would have loved to see the artist address the solution to anima projecting but maybe the clues are already there.

The technique is oustanding I think, the reds and pinks complement the romance theme perfectly. The shading and lighting are interesting in that some shadows are going in opposite directions, which lend it a dreamlike quality.

Overall I think this piece speaks for itself, and rates as one of my personal favorites.

The wife (Kiki) and I love this piece. Salvador Dali would be proud of you for your presentation and execution in this complex style. Your unique inventiveness of elements shines above most artists in the surreal genre, and many others. There's a warmth about your work that stretches beyond the mere technical and mechanical of pieces themed in robotic artistic works. The many dimensions of this piece jibe well. And one's mind could dance perpetually with new findings associated with subconscious and evident conclusions, yet still not see all of the visuals staring back at them. Which makes this work so much fun. Thanks for the groovy gift, bro! :squee: K&K :squee:

i don't think that the brick road fits the picture are a whole, like a wrong texture
and personally i would ditch the people on the bottom, i don't think they add a realistic side to the picture i think they are unneeded, if you would of added some kind of back to the window it would of given it some more depth, because it lacks it looks a bit flat.
besides that i think the picture as a whole is designed wonderfully and the colors mix very well together it's unique and interesting to watch.

i really love your works. i sneak from time to time just to look at your pictures and i don't know if i've told you that. this is really one of my absolut favs. i think your works should hang in a museum where everybody can look at them... do you do exhibitions? and are you in austria some time ^^?

thanks again dear Minzile, I'm usually more active on the web, I live in the middle of nowhere, and I had just one more important expo in Netherlands...I usually sell on eBay and I never have enough paintings at once for a expo :)
I passed a couples of times through Austria, never stayed for a visit, but I want to, is a very beautiful country. I had a crazy plan this year, to go to Italy by foot from Austria...so maybe in 2010 :)
